of playing fields. The award-winning 12,000 seat Van Andel Arena, located
in Grand Rapids, is home to the Griffins hockey team and the Rampage arena
football team, as well as major concerts and sporting events. Several
academic institutions make their home in Kent County, including Aquinas
College, Calvin College, Cornerstone University, Davenport University,
Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, ITT Technical
Institute, Kendall College of Art and Design, and Western Michigan University.
